The inspiration behind Erin Cox’s Jewellery
Erin Cox’s signature style beautifully captures the untamed essence of Devon's landscapes, drawing inspiration from meandering rivers and babbling brooks to the rolling hills and rugged Tors of Dartmoor. Each piece is meticulously crafted, featuring flowing textures & dynamic forms that echo her natural world. Created in her Devon workshop, Erin’s designs pay homage to her home, with each piece as unique and captivating as the landscape that inspires it…
TORS OF DARTMOOR
Erin's bond with Dartmoor is deeply meaningful, as it holds cherished memories of her late father, who shared her love for it’s rugged beauty. Dartmoor’s iconic rock formations inspire her carved, gem-set 'Tor' rings amongst other designs…
FLORA & FAUNA
Erin's keen sense of smell and love for colour draw her to the beauty of flowers. She is captivated by their contrasting petals, colour combinations, and perfume and she strives to capture this essence in her bold, colourful designs.
FROST
Erin's love for exploring the outdoors endures through winter's chill. Her recent Frost collection, inspired by magical snow-covered walks, features diamonds that capture the glittering sparkle of ice on branches.
CREATURES BIG & SMALL
Walking in nature, Erin is captivated by it’s magical creatures and their bold, colourful markings. Her vibrant gemstone designs pay homage to nature's palette, celebrating these creatures' stunning displays.
RIVER & OCEANS
From babbling brooks to salty seas, Erin finds her greatest joy near water. You may have noticed that each design in her Molten wedding ring collection is named after a Devon river, a tribute to the natural inspiration behind her work.
Her Bubble collection also draws inspiration from the magic of water. While diving in Borneo, she watched air bubbles dance to the surface, sparking her creative vision.
Additionally, her Siren collection is inspired by mythical allure of mermaids and the shimmering beauty of fish scales. Erin’s snorkelling adventures along the Devonshire coast have deepened this connection, as she draws inspiration from the underwater world she encounters. The hammered metal discs in this collection capture and reflect light with a mesmerizing, fluid quality, reminiscent of scales glistening in sunlit waters.
TANTALISING TEXTURE
The tactile natural world offers a rich array of textures, which Erin celebrates through her organic and textural designs. She embraces nature’s perfectly imperfect beauty and aims to honour it’s flowing lines, crackle formations, and meandering forms with her distinctive creations.
THE MAGICAL WORLD OF MUSHROOMS
Erin loves foraging, which delights both her palate and her creativity. Clusters of fungi formations, tantalising alien-like branches, ombré shades of brown or pops of vibrant colour and textural umbrellas; the intriguing world of mushrooms provides an abundance of inspiration. It’s a feast for the eyes as well as the table!
