Sapphire is the traditional birthstone for this month.
We do love a sapphire the blue variety go with everything from jeans to a little black dress.
Sapphire is one of the three gem-varieties of corundum, the other two being ruby - in a shade of red, and padparadscha a pinkish orange variety.
Sapphire's are naturally found in every colour, including grey and black. There really is a colour for everyone in the sapphire range of hues, we recently purchased an amazing platinum sapphire that has a pinkish hue.
