I realise it has been a year (or more) since my last blog entry.
After a very unsettled two years both professionally and personally things are finally calming down, and there is light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a new home for me and my daughter.
I have never lived in a newly built house. After 30 years in victorian terraces the prospect of a fitted kitchen and NEVER having to sand and paint sash windows again is very exciting. The house will be finished by March 2015 and I can’t wait!
The Studio at 1 Upper Paul Street is now fully functional, it is such a great space to work in and meet clients. The walls are grey and the my amazing pink Margo Selby chaise pops with colour in the small, cozy space. My incredible walnut workbench (hand made by the wonderful Billy Cheeseman) is the centre piece. It was such a luxury to design a bench just for me, not to mention the joy of tool shopping!
I have tried to make the studio friendly and intimate. I bought lots of plants which are rapidly dying, I think I kill house plants with love. Any advice about indoor plants that will thrive in small dark spaces would be greatly appreciated!
Tilly starts school in September, which will dictate a new work routine for me. I will be available in the studio during school hours only, and of course all day on a Saturday.
Laura and Jasmine are keeping Castle Street spick and span and running like clockwork. The gold plating unit is up and running, which is brilliant to be able to offer another service in house.
14 Castle Street is also now home to Rosie and Violette. We are loving our new neighbour, her shop is a wonderful, distracting, treasure trove of loveliness. Perfect as I daydream about how to decorate my new home...
